Nothing, automatically. VideoCompress has no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no usage tracking of any kind. It does not phone home to us.
Exactly one thing: license activation. When you activate a license key, the app sends the key and your machine name to Creem's activation service (api.creem.io) over HTTPS, so we can enforce the 3-device limit of the Pro license. That's the only network request the application can make. Decline to activate and the app works fully offline in the free tier.
Video processing runs entirely on your PC using the bundled FFmpeg engine. Video content is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere but your own disk.
Preferences (target size, output folder, language, quality track) and your license key + device instance ID are stored in the Windows registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\framext\videocompress. Uninstalling keeps these settings; you can delete the key manually to wipe everything.
Purchases are processed by Creem (creem.io), our Merchant of Record. Creem handles payment, taxes, and emails you the license key. We never receive or store your card number. Creem's own privacy policy applies to its payment processing.
This website is static. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking. If we later add privacy-respecting aggregate analytics, this policy will be updated first.
